Misspelled Celebrity Tattoos

Unless you're getting a tattoo of the temporary type, it's important to double check -- even triple check -- things like spelling and translations when opting for ink. These celebs learned this lesson the hard way. Check out the 10 celebs with permanent misspellings on their famous figures.
Translations are tricky when it comes to tattoos, ask Hayden Panettiere. The actress got "live without regret" in Italian inked on her side in 2009, but she ended up with an extra "I." The Heroes star admits it's a mistake: “It’s misspelled, whatever," she said. "I just put my own spin to it. Chances are I’ll probably get it fixed, but that’s why I love having it on my back because I don’t get bored of it.”
Britney's been tattooed inaccurately twice! The tat on her hip was supposed to mean "rebellious," but came out "strange." She removed a Kabbalah-inspired tattoo that was supposed to mean "God," but came out wrong. Whoops.
Rihanna's tattoo error is more of a grammatical technicality than a misspelling. She has "rebelle fleur" written on on the left side of her neck, when the proper French grammar rules put the adjective before the noun. Perhaps she was just trying to be that "rebel flower!"
David Beckham's romantic gesture to wife Victoria went a little wrong when he got her name tattooed in Sanskrit in 2000. Her name came out "Vihctoria" by accident! But, the soccer star has so much ink on his arm that we're guessing it's been long covered up or at least hidden by his other marks.

Former reality star Jon Gosselin is famous for a lot of not-so-great things, and his giant Korean dragon tattoo with his ex-girlfriend's name completely wrong is a prime example. He got the enormous back tattoo with "Erin" instead of "Ellen." At least they both start with "E" and end with "N"?

Justin Timberlake lucked out big time: He got fake tattoos for his role in Alpha Dog, so it didn't really matter that the haphazard Chinese symbols wound up meaning "ice skating." We'd like to think this star would have done much more homework had he been getting inked for real.
Christina Aguilera's permanent spelling mistake actually worked out for the best. She tried to get her husband Jordan Bratman's initials scrolled in Hebrew on her arm, but ended up with characters that combined to read "12." Now that the two are divorced, we bet she's a bit relieved that her ex's initials aren't written on her for life.
Coolio hoped to pay tribute to the Insane Clown Posse in one of his tats, but his "Jugalo Cool" ink was obviously missing the second "G." The rapper insists the misspelling was intentional, but we highly doubt it.
Johnny Depp has about 13 known tattoos, including a very interesting "Wino Forever" tat.  Here's the story: The tattoo started out "Winona Forever" when he was dating Winona Ryder back in the day. They split, then he altered the ink, opting for a weird, made-up word rather than his ex's name. We understand.
Nicole Richie
Nicole Richie's "virgin" tattoo isn't misspelled, but it might as well be a misspelling since no one really gets the intended meaning. The tat has to do with astrology, not her love life. “I’m a Virgo and the sign is a virgin," she explained. "So when I was 16, I got the word virgin tattooed on my wrist, thinking I was sooo deep and cool. And now I just look really weird having virgin written across my wrist and I have to explain it.”
